Since I LOVE Christmas, I'm copying my girls Jo-Lynne and Grace with this meme! This week is super crazy between helping with the Holiday Extravanga and Holiday Card orders. (By the way, the card deadline has been extended - I'll take orders until Friday!) Feel free to play along - leave a comment so I can go check out how YOU celebrate!!
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Since I loathe egg nog and I'm not a huge fan of hot chocolate, I'm going to go with a Starbucks Peppermint Mocha.
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? We don't do Santa in our house. (Read why here.) Wow, so far I'm like a Christmas Meme Scrooge!!
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? White, white, WHITE. I hate colored lights on a tree!! (I'm also refusing to buy those LCD lights because I think they look blue. Has anyone else noticed that? Or am I as neurotic as my husband says I am?)
4. Do you hang mistletoe? No.
5. When do you put your decorations up? The Friday afternoon after Thanksgiving, of course!
6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Pie. My mom's turkey dinner on Christmas Eve. Cookies, cookies, cookies and cookies.
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? Waking up with my brother at around 3am and "staying quiet" until it was time to open gifts.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I guess around 5? I don't really remember.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? I think I used to open the gifts my father and stepmom sent on Christmas Eve with my brother. But my mom would NEVER let us open gifts! (Or course, her grandchildren are given gifts on Christmas Eve......)
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? WHITE lights, red beads, lots of red ball ornaments and lots of ornaments from around the world. And, more recently, lots of handmade goodies from the kids.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Love it - when I get to stay inside. When it messes with travel plans... nosomuch.
12. Can you ice skate? Technically.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? I got my engagement right after seeing the Nutcracker on the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum right by the huge Christmas tree. Not technically a Christmas gift, but does that still count?
14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Family. Teaching our kids what Christmas is really about.
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Yes.
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Christmas morning at mom's house. The candlelight services on Christmas Eve.
17. What tops your tree? Star.
18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? Of course I love getting presents. But I honestly, really, truly love giving presents too!!!
19. Candy Canes: Yuck or Yum? Yum!!!
20 Favorite Christmas Show? National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Elf and the old school Muppet Christmas with John Denver.
21. Saddest Christmas Song? What?
22. What is your favorite Christmas Song? O Holy Night.

I got engaged on December 23rd, 2002 on the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum. Our husbands must have read the same book... :)

Saddest Christmas Song has to be that schmaltzfest about the Christmas shoes. The kid's mom is dying or something? I can't stand it and change the dial whenever I hear it!

Since I'm afraid I won't remember to link back tomorrow, just know that my post on this is going live Tuesday. Thanks! It was fun to do!

I love colored lights. Of course, I also put up a vintage aluminum Christmas tree from the 1960s,complete with a color wheel. I think our decorating style is a little different. lol
