growing up… step by step

DSC_0112-1 This weekend, Colin stopped crawling up the stairs.

Not a huge deal, I know.

We live in a split level house, with five flights of stairs. And we always used to laugh at how Colin would crawl up the stairs and zoom down on his tummy at lighting speed.

And now he's walking up and down. Like a big boy.

He also has fully rejected his high chair and will only sit in his booster seat. And he insists on feeding himself his yogurt and cereal, just like his sisters. And he hates sitting in the seat of the shopping cart or in his stroller. He wants to be running around like all the big kids. He wants to do everything by himself, from brushing his teeth to changing the dvd. He is utterly frustrated that he cannot work the computer or Leapster like his sisters. He even wanted to drive the other day.

It feels like he's trying to race away from babyhood. While I'm holding on tight as I can.

I can’t even believe it! It almost feels as though you just had him…

He looks so grown up! Wouldn’t it be nice if we could keep our babies little forever? I am really struggling with how big and grown-up Aubryn is getting already.

It does change so fast, and so at once it seems. He is growing up for wonderfully, so handsome.

Don’t you wish you could freeze them at certain especially cute ages? I remember asking my mom if we could keep my sister permanently 3 years old. She was so stinkin’ cute!
