"Mom, I'm going to ask you if I can play computer during Colin's nap and if you say no, then I'm going to ask you if I can play the DS and if you say no, then I'll ask you if I can watch a movie and if you say no, then I'll go play something without a screen."
Apparently, playing with "something without a screen" is a novelty. I think it may be time to reintroduce my kids to some good, old fashioned board games.

this made me laugh… we have serious rules around our house. The wii is very restricted. Game boy time is only towards the end of the day after reading and things have happened. We never watch tv during the day and have movie night once a week. Sometimes I feel bad but then I look at Genny’s love of books, her love of board games, art and her american girl stuff and how she LOVES to play with friends. (really play) and I feel a little less guilty.
we have lots of rules about that too – which is why her conversation was sooo hilarious to me. like playing with something without a screen is a total last resort!!
That is hilarious!
Boo gets a bit of computer time each day, but only to play on Jumpstart, otherwise she isn’t allowed. She loves to read, so that trumps everything in her mind.
