our spending freeze and other news

Are we the only ones who are positively hemorrhaging money lately? Seriously, we blew our August budget out of the water. Big time. I know we had back-to-school shopping and vacation and whatnot, but jeez. Time to crack down.
So we're done spending money. Food and diapers and that's about it for the time being. I will not set one toe in Ann Taylor Loft. I mean it.
And, naturally, Husband's 'check engine' light is on. Yipee.

Colin is at the adorable stage where he thinks if he closes his eyes, I can't see him.

"Colin, what are you doing?"
(squeezes eyes shut)

"Colin, come here!"
(squeezes eyes shut)

Its really hard not to laugh.

We’re having the same spending issue. I blame it on the fertility drugs and the fact that we had to pay TK4′s tuition for the semester in August. Both of our check engine lights are on. I was planning to do swimming lessons with A this fall but am going to wait until winter now. On the food front, I’m trying to eat through our pantry and only buy the bare necessities of fresh foods. It’s tough!
Oh and the closed eyes trick – adorable!

We are having a spending freeze too. Between the house and school stuff we are not doing well. I think once the fence is done things will calm down a bit. Hopefully…

I feel your pain. Read Not Buying It (from the library of course!) for no-spend encouragement. :)
