I have done these and they turned out really nice. I think you just put to much mix in them. I filled then 1/2 to 3/4 full but I had been warned to not over fill them! Better luck next time. My kids love them and its less clean up mess.

When I was teaching a mom brought these for Easter. She put green icing on the top and jelly beans for eggs, and made a handle with licorice. They were the cutest things.
I am sure if I attempted that they would just look hideous.
