There is something I have always had mommy-guilt about. Something I even lie to my pediatrician about, because I am so embarrassed.
My kids have never had swim lessons.
I KNOW!
Okay, its not a huge deal, but it seems like everyone else has had them. Except my kids.
But, today I get to check that off my list. While we are at my moms, I found someone to give them private lessons in my mom’s pool. We’re going with private lessons because I’m having trouble finding a beginner class for 5 year olds. (Again, the guilt!! Every 5-year-old except mine has had lessons!) I’m so excited.
Although yesterday Husband took them in the pool and Ellie was fuh-REAKING out. Oh well. She’s in for a shock today when this girl makes her get in without her usual accessories:

we’ve done lessons for the older boys and it was always disastrous. and we have swim team kids around here…

I remember the first time I took your cousin Laura for swimming lessons. They told me not to bring her back. At least not that year. They will be glad they learned. Don’t you have life guards in the family to help with training?

Truly, you’re not missing anything with the lessons for little ones. My 3-year-old daughter had lessons a few weeks ago. Her favorite part was hanging out with the other kids while holding on to the side of the pool. She was also the only child who wouldn’t float with a life jacket on. Nice, huh! I’d say your a smart mama and private lessons also sound quite nice.

awwwww! How cute is that picture!!! I would not beat yourself up over that swimming lesson thang at ALL! I still remember being traumatized as a child over swimming lessons. I must have been three-ish. I think you’re nice to wait!! And private lessons are cush.
