Today we say goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa as they return to India for a whole year. And goodbye to Husband as he heads to Turkey for over two weeks.
I’m pretending to be very brave and cheerful for the kids. Saying how wonderful it is to share our daddy with the people in Turkey. How important it is for him to go visit the church there. How exciting it is that we can pray for him on his trip. How special it is that Grandma and Grandpa share Jesus with people in India. How lucky we were they could come home and see us.
But the kids are not buying it.
They are crying.
They’re old enough to realize how long the people they love will be gone.

Oh, that is a hard thing for kids, and for mamas. I’ll pray all goes well for everyone. However, how cool is it that they are probably then old enough to start remembering that their family does Kingdom work?
So sad.
SOOO hard and yet SOOO good for them to see! How blessed are they to shed tears for their loved ones who are busy serving the King, and how blessed are you to work at being the Proverbs 31 wife who laughs at the days to come. My prayers for you and the example you are all setting for your little ones.
Sam has been extremely sensitive these past two days, and although he doesn’t realize it, I think it is because he misses his Mimi and Poppy, who just left yesterday. It’s really sad for them, I know, but so wonderful that they had the visit and could share some time together.
It is so hard to say goodbye after such a nice visit. Good luck trying to remain strong. Maybe you need to come to the beach to relax!!
aww, gosh, that’s tough! maybe lil man is sensing the upheaval and thusly not sleeping to make you more crazy!!
hugs….and prayers for all safe travels (and returns).
