This morning we went to a playdate with one of Ellie's friends. I carefully google-mapped the address, wrote out directions on a piece of paper - even wrote down the phone number in case I got lost.
I was so on top of things.
I'm driving there and reach for the directions. Where are they? On the washing machine. IN MY HOUSE. Not in the car, full of children, driving to the playdate.
By the grace of God and just two u-turns, I find the house. I get the kids out. Reach for Colin's diaper bag. Where is it? On the washing machine. IN MY HOUSE. Not in the car, arriving safely at the HOURS LONG playdate at the home of a family we barely know.
Great first impression there, Girlymama! ("Hi! Nice to meet you! Please excuse the smell!")
I actually left the playdate early, pleading the need for a diaper, because I was so exhausted I could barely keep up with the conversation. I kept yawning HUGELY every two minutes. (Which I'm sure made the other mom I was talking feel extremely interesting.) I could have easily curled up on her couch and fallen asleep. I drove home, threw some lunch at the kids, put them in their rooms and fell dead asleep. For TWO HOURS. I could have easily slept at least six more, but Colin needed to eat.
So, to sum it up... I'm pooped. When you start your day chugging a cup of coffee... that's cold... because it was brewed the day before... and then sat in the coffeemaker all night... (YUM!) because you're too tired to make new coffee... That means you need to GO TO BED earlier.
Yet here I am! Blogging! Instead of sleeping!
Clearly, I have issues.

I can't even begin to tell you all the times I have done the same thing. It seems like I never leave the house on the first try becaue I inevitably forget something. Get some sleep, girly!!!

This sounds pretty familiar....here I am sitting, reading blogs when I should be in bed sleeping since my little guy will wake up long before I'm ready to wake up. Not to mention the millions of things I should be doing instead of goofing off on the computer!!
Hope you get some serious sleep!!

I'm a chronic leave-the-house-3-times person because I ALWAYS forget something. I've been doing this since I was a kid and I don't expect I'll outgrow it anytime soon...

If there is ever something that I have to remember, I will forget it. I have finally learned the only way to get it to end up with me is to put in the car the night before...if I can remember that is.

Oh, sister! Clearly you are in dire need of rest. Not sleep. Rest. There is a definite difference. Do you want me to come watch the kiddo's for you? Then I could sniff Colin ALLLL I want:)
Clearly it's all about ME!
Wishing you a day filled with fresh coffee, squishy hugs, and plenty of naps!
Love and Blessings...

I'm feeling your pain. I was so tired by the end of the day yesterday, I can't remember how I got to bed. But my mind was still trying to tell me to blog...I told it to bite me!
