Well, today has been focused on nursing Colin as much as possible. He is looking more and more jaundiced, so they want me to nurse him as much as I can. Plus, my milk came in, so nursing is very helpful!
Husband took one look at me this morning and said, “Wow! Your endowment is bigger than Harvard’s!” Then proceeded to call me “Hooty McBoob” for the rest of the morning.
Its nice to have such sensitive spouse. You know you’re jealous
Last night he did really well. I got a couple 2 hour stretches of sleep. But, please do not pelt me with angry e-mails… we let him sleep in our bed. I know, I know you’re not supposed to do that. But we had to choose between responsible parenting with baby screaming hysterically in his crib and slightly irresponsible parenting with baby sleeping peacefully in the bed. We went with sleeping peacefully. Tonight we’ll try the crib again. He did great during his nap in his crib, so hopefully it will work.
More pictures soon! And the birth story! Sorry – it hurts to sit up still

At least he didn’t call you Chestie LaRue or Busty St. Claire (Simpsons fans will get that). Glad to hear the little guy is doing well and letting you sleep a little. Enjoy your Percoset!
BOTH my kids slept in our bed ~ it was easier for all involved!
Can’t wait to hear more stories!
I’ve been letting Hannah sleep in the bed with me at night. She is quiet and sleeps for three or four hours and I haven’t smooshed her to death so it’s a win-win.
I haven’t completed my survey of the ENTIRE world- but I think we are one of the few countries that insist on making our babies sleep so far away from us. I think baby furniture companies have lobbied for promoting crib sleeping- tongue in cheek of course. Each of our babies slept with us for a time and made the transition to the crib in their own room wonderfully.
Congratulation on a beautiful baby boy!! I’m waiting for a pic with his soccer jersey!!!
Congratulations on your gorgeous boy!! I’m so happy for you and your whole family.
Also, stop apologizing about your decision to let him sleep with you…YOU ARE THE MOMMY, it’s YOUR DECISISION and I applaud you.
Whatever gets you guys some rest! I made baby steps towards co-sleeping with each child and finally went all out with #4. He slept, I slept, all was well.
Hope the jaundice clears up quickly!
ALL my boys slept in my bed. Zander (2) still does. His two older brothers (now 5 and 7) never come to our room anymore and probably never will. Enjoy those prescious times when you CAN snuggle with him. There is NO NO NO right or wrong. You do what is right for YOUR family. Congratulations
